Job Summary/Basic Function:
The University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BMEN). We are looking for candidates with research accomplishments in one or more of the following areas: biomechanics, artificial organs, neuroengineering, biosensors, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.

The candidate for the position in Biomedical Engineering is expected to teach BMEN undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a strong research program funded by external sources, support and mentor graduate students, and provide service to the University and the profession.

An offer of employment for this position will be made dependent upon available funding.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in biomedical engineering or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
For the Assistant Professor position we are looking for candidates with a strong publication record and the potential to succeed in securing research funding and mentoring graduate students. For the Associate Professor position we expect a sustained record of providing mentoring to junior faculty, advising graduate students, providing service to the University and profession, and securing external funding for research activities. Post-doctoral research experience or industrial research experience is preferred.
