Provide direct service to students, parents, and colleagues by assisting in the resolution of a wide range of complex problems, many of which will involve multiple University offices, and which may have sensitive personal, academic, and financial components. Coordinate efforts of multiple offices to ensure holistic and streamlined support for students. Counsel students considering leave of absence or withdrawal from the University; facilitate re-enrollment for students returning after a break in studies for health or other reasons. Research requests for exceptions to the tuition refund schedule and draft written responses. Assist with efforts to publicize USC and to educate University community regarding services provided by the center. Participate in development of outreach, programming, and other services to first-generation and other student populations. Successfully manage assigned projects and committee work supporting office administration and University retention initiatives.


BA/BS required. MA/MS preferred. 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in related area(s): complex problem resolution, customer service, project management. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. As part of the USC associate director (AD) team, each AD is responsible for filling multiple roles, including front line service delivery, project management, high level problem solving, and collaborative management of office workflow. Must be able to balance multiple competing priorities and shift roles throughout the day. This position requires comfort working independently and as part of a team.
