The Office of Financial Planning and Analysis seeks to hire a financial analyst in a challenging higher education environment. Qualified candidates will have financial analysis experience, and are able to operate independently, with little supervision. The Financial Analyst must represent the UVAFinance core values: to be (1) an impeccable source of information and (2) a collaborative partner; to provide (3) service excellence and (4) communication.
The UVAFinance team recently adopted a vision to become the valued and trusted financial partner that the University community turns to first. The Financial Analyst is an integral member of the team. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the development of the University's Facilities and Administration (F&A) proposal, review & complete account reconciliations, and assist with the development of quarterly and annual financial reports.
The Financial Analyst will be collaborate with various team members and stakeholders to successfully turn data into informative and actionable information.
A Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field is required. Additionally at least two years of experience demonstrating experience in reviewing & completing account reconciliations, and assisting with the development of quarterly and annual financial reports is required.
Working knowledge of financial analysis, the ability to analyze and present information, working knowledge of University, state, and federal policies and regulations, and the ability to conduct activities and make decisions according to ethical standards are all required. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate specific information relative to financial analysis are required. Additionally, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, working with senior leaders to accomplish goals, and the ability to grasp the University's educational mission, strategic aims, and programs are required.
Candidates are required to be proficient in computer applications and have working knowledge of various databases and software programs.
