The Saint Mary’s College Department of Psychological Sciences invites applications for two tenure track Assistant Professor positions to begin August, 2019. Due to retirements, advancement, and departmental growth, the department is in the exciting position to hire across different subfields. 

One position centers on Developmental Psychology, and the candidate will teach some combination of Child Development, Lifespan Development, Introduction to Psychology, and courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The Department has an ongoing relation with an on-campus child development center, which would be ideal for candidates who study child development.

Another position centers on Statistics and Methods, and the candidate will teach some combination of Statistics, Research Methods, Personality Psychology, and Psychological Testing.

The individuals in these positions will each teach three courses per semester based on the needs of the department and the teaching interests of the successful candidates. The ability for these candidates to contribute to one of our growing interdisciplinary programs (Neuroscience, Environmental Studies, Gender & Women’s Studies, Gerontology, Communicative Sciences, Justice Studies) is a plus. Qualified candidates whose teaching and research interests involve related, but not identical, areas such as those described above, or a combination of those described above, are also encouraged to apply.

These positions require a Ph.D. either in Psychology or a related field. Candidates who are A.B.D. will be considered.  All successful candidates will contribute to the mission of the college which promotes a life of intellectual vigor, aesthetic appreciation, religious sensibility, and social responsibility.
