The working hours for this position are 6AM-6PM and 6PM-6AM rotating shift, including weekends and holidays. Security sensitive; Certified 3-Yr driving record and criminal background check conducted on selected applicant. Hiring decision contingent upon applicant clearing background check and driving record requirements.

Additional Information Purpose To develop journey-level skills through training on skilled work within the specific trade assignment. Responsible for learning skills in the operation, maintenance and repair of the trade assignment, and to perform such work to the limit of their experience.

Essential Functions Learns journey-level skills by installing, maintaining, operating, building, repairing the equipment and materials relevant to the technician trade. Uses tools and equipment to perform the duties of the trade assignment as outlined in the journey-level job description to the limit of their experience. Performs periodic duties listed in the journey-level job description to the limit of their experience. Drive UT vehicle. Maintain acceptable driving record required by UT System policy UTS157. May be required to report to work at Pickle Research Campus. Performs related duties as assigned. May be required to perform elevated work, work in personnel lifts, or on ladders and scaffolds. Demonstrate good interpersonal communication skills. Required to carry UT cell phone during work and on call hours.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

Marginal/Incidental functions Direct supervision from immediate supervisor, guidance from senior employees. Work is performed in accordance with normal trade practices and is inspected for conformity to standards, quality and quantity by journey-level employees or lead employee.

Required qualifications High school graduation or GED. Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Demonstrates good communication skills. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications Currently enrolled in or completed associate degree level technical courses in one of the following areas; Power Technology, Electronics Technology, Renewable Energy, Robotics/Instrumentation, or related field.

A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
