Additional Information Purpose Administer and oversee various college-wide initiatives and programs, including certificates and minors, college readiness, major switch, and internal transfer admissions for the College of Natural Sciences (CNS).

Essential Functions Manage college readiness process and procedure and act as a primary point of contact for student inquiries. Deploy UT Math Assessment including proctoring, scoring, and score reporting for 7,000 students. Oversee and implement day-to-day College Readiness operations including websites, student interface, university partnerships, and managing Readiness Mentor Program by supervising approximately ten student mentors. Oversee management of Perry Castaneda Lab STEM Study Center, including eight student tutors. Manage internal transfer application process. Provide info sessions and respond to inquiries from students and staff university-wide. Review approximately 850 applicants, take recommendations to departments. Coordinate with Assistant Dean and departments to decide on admissions and send notifications to applicants. Oversee and implement all aspects of the Health Professions, Forensic Science, and Science and Communications Certificates, including catalog revisions, marketing, and outreach. Provide college-wide leadership and training on Certificate processes and procedures. Provide advising to students from across the University pursuing these certificates. Participation in Certificates and Minors Work Group, troubleshooting new Registrar system and providing ongoing training across CNS. Coordinate outreach to students regarding four-year progress, with a goal of 70 percent success rate. Coordinate with Student Success Initiatives office on Senior Countdown initiative and coordinate with CNS Cornerstones to continue cultivating CNS four-year culture. Coordinate with Student Success Initiatives Office and CNS advising areas to manage outreach and processing of identified Major Switch eligible students. Assist Assistant Dean for Advising in various initiatives in CNS including implementing and evaluating new advising methods.

Required qualifications Bachelor's degree and at least five years of leadership experience in higher education. Progressive advancement in a field related to student advising or student educational services. General understanding of certificate programs or student community initiatives. Demonstrated ability to communicate well and lead a team to accomplish a common goal. Proven organizational, time, and project management skills. Demonstrated effective budget management. Effective leadership experience with students, staff, faculty, and external stakeholders. Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to learn quickly and work independently. Superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated professional demeanor. Collaborative team-player able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications More than the required qualifications including previous academic advising experience. Previous experience with the University of Texas at Austin's policies, procedures, and systems.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
