Working hours are 6AM-6PM and 6PM-6AM rotating shift, including weekends and holidays. Security sensitive; Certified 3-Yr driving record and Criminal background check conducted on selected applicant. Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.Marginal/Incidental functions Direct supervision from immediate supervisor guidance from senior employees. Work is performed in accordance with normal trade practices and is inspected for conformity to standards, quality and quantity by journey-level employees or lead employees. Required qualifications High school graduation or GED. Currently enrolled in or completed associate degree level technical courses in one of the following areas; Power Technology, Electronics Technology, Renewable Energy, Robotics Instrumentation, Line Worker, or related fields. Demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Currently enrolled in or completed associate degree level technical courses in one of the following areas; Power Technology, Electronics Technology, Renewable Energy, Robotics Instrumentation, or related fields. Working conditions Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished) May work in all weather conditions May work in extreme temperatures May work around chemical fumes May work around standard office conditions May work around biohazards May work around chemicals May work around electrical and mechanical hazards Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Climbing of stairs Climbing of ladders Lifting and moving May be required to work in confined spaces, tunnels, and elevation work. A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
