Assistant Professor, Industrial Technology – 9 month tenure-track
Required: Doctorate in Industrial Technology, Agricultural Mechanics, Agricultural/Industrial Systems Management or a closely related field for Assistant Professor. Ph.D. candidates who are near completion will be considered.
A Master’s in Industrial Technology, Agricultural Mechanics, Agricultural/Industrial Systems Management or a closely related field is required for the lecturer position. We would encourage a person selected at this level to obtain a doctorate.
Must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and possess excellent communication skills; be technically current; be an enthusiastic team player who is willing to work in a multidisciplinary program; and have demonstrated skills in leadership.
Preferred: The ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience in higher education, secondary education and/or professional work experience.
Candidate will teach courses in the Industrial Technology Field. Teaching opportunities may include courses in Power Systems, Metal Fabrication, Woodworking, Construction, Architectural Drawing/Drafting. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the Industrial Technology lab spaces; participation in and helping conduct departmental sponsored events; participation in faculty governance and service activities at the departmental, college and university levels; and engagement in scholarly activity. Such activities are broadly defined and may include the scholarship of teaching, research, or similar activities. The candidate will also advise students, purchase and maintain equipment, and contribute to accreditation efforts and program development. Program development expectations include growing the program in directions demonstrating a commitment to the mission and vision of SRSU, including expanding certification programs and revising/expanding degree offerings.
