Research Associate-Fixed Term
We seek a Postdoctoral Research Associate to help bring new, high-level quantitative tools to the challenges of wildlife conservation. Responsibilities will include developing and refining population models to evaluate and inform wildlife management decisions. Initial work will link population and epidemiological models to study the role of white-tailed deer harvest on the spread of chronic wasting disease. The Postdoctoral Research Associate is expected to work collaboratively with Boone and Crockett Quantitative Wildlife Center colleagues and our partners, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and communicate research findings to broad audiences.
Salary commensurate with experience. The position is a one-year initial appointment with potential extension up to three years. Desired start date is early 2019.Required Degree

Ph.D. in wildlife, ecology, biometrics or a related field.Desired Qualifications
Competitive candidates will have ecological or statistical modeling experience, strong oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated leadership abilities. A research background in population or disease ecology and a publication record commensurate with time since degree completion are preferred. Prior experience interacting with government wildlife agencies is helpful.
