Dr. Zhiyi Zuo, M.D., Ph.D. runs an active laboratory focused on organ protection in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Virginia. He is currently seeking a Research Scientist to focus on molecular mechanism of organ protection.
The person will work under the guidance of Dr. Zuo to better understand the molecular and biochemical mechanisms of postoperative cognitive dysfunction and aging-related brain ischemic tolerance and cognitive decline. Various biochemical and molecular biology methods as well as animal behaviors and brain ischemia models will be used in the studies.
The applicant must have a PhD and have extensive experience in brain ischemia models with related publications. The applicant shall also have significant knowledge of perioperative settings. Previous experience with animal behavior tests is a plus.
