Assistant Professor of Music
The Music Program in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Music Performance in Guitar with a specialty in contemporary music and a background in classical, jazz and other styles. The position will begin in January 2019. This position requires teaching and curriculum development in areas of music history, humanities, entrepreneurship and chamber music courses. The successful candidate will contribute to the unique interdisciplinary programs of the Music Program and the Visual and Performing Arts Department.

D.M.A. (preferred) or a Ph.D. in Music
- National reputation as a performer (guitar) (over 5 years)
- Experience in conducting (particularly in contemporary and small ensembles)
- Significant teaching experience at the college level (10-15 years)
- Significant experience in course development and teaching interdisciplinary curriculum at the university level
- Significant organizational, administrative and recruiting skills
- Experience in developing a Music History sequence at the university level
