ASSOC DIRECTOR OF RCM FISCAL OPERATION

Duties: The Associate Director of RCM Fiscal Operations reports directly to the Director of Administrative Affairs. The position is responsible for the management and performance of the Finance & Administration RCM financial management team, provides support to the entire business administrator (BA) community, and serves as a business partner to certain lines of business such as WRDS and Sirius radio.

This position manages four direct reports who primarily operate on Penn's RCM financial model. The group manages financial matters of all administrative business units and new School initiatives (currently 11 units), provides support and coverage to the business administrator community (40+ administrators), and provides oversight of the Wharton School's restricted funds including grants, gifts and endowments. This position assumes the lead role in ensuring compliance with all financial policies and procedures as well as fulfilling reporting, budgeting, and fiscal year end requirements of administrative units. Requires extensive communication with senior administrative staff as well as business administrator community on operational issues.

This position along with the RCM financial management team support the business administrator community by managing daily ZenDesk inquires, ensuring financial coverage during outages, as well as review of monthly PCARD, Meeting Card and BOA travel Card reconciliations. Ensures information is timely and accurate with a focus on superior customer service.

This position along with the Restricted Funds Manger is responsible the financial oversight, compliance, training programs and reporting requirements of the School's restricted funds. The position works directly with the University's Office of Sponsored Research and the BA community to establish training programs and best practices. It provides reporting and analysis at the School level for all gifts and endowments ensuring compliance with university policies, procedure and donor intent.
The position serves as the financial partner to certain lines of business such as WRDS and Sirius radio. This involves understanding unique lines of business, revenue and expense cost centers, accrual accounting, contract interpretation, and developing client relationships.

The position requires strong financial accounting and budgeting skills; experience with grants, gifts and endowments; as well as excellent communication skills. Higher education experience preferred.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree is required (preferred major: Accounting or finance) and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA and/or CPA preferred. Strong analytical skills with financial analysis and business operations essential. Understanding of the principles and priorities helpful but not necessary. Thorough knowledge of established accounting standards and practices, financial planning, taxation, and management is required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Advanced skills in Excel. Strong working knowledge of database technology. Experience managing, leading, and motivating a diverse group of professionals. Background check is required.
