Degree and Area of Specialization:

PhD in Biomedical Engineering

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

The candidate must have at least 10 years of post-PhD MRI experience, and 2 years of post-PhD PET/MR experience. The candidate must have experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating novel MRI pulse sequences, including experience in MRI pulse sequence programming; experience programming in the GE EPIC environment is preferred. The candidate must have experience in neuroimaging, cardiac imaging, and whole body imaging. Demonstrated experience with imaging of humans, non-human primates, and small animals is preferred. Candidates with experience in applying deep learning and advanced image reconstruction techniques to address issues in MRI and PET/MR are preferred. The candidate should have experience with a wide range of advanced MRI applications, including fMRI, spectroscopy, diffusion weighted imaging, as well as experience in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) data acquisition, reconstruction, and quality control. Experience in programming in Matlab, C++, and Python is required. Experience supervising graduate students and post-docs is required. Experience in submitting grant applications to funding agencies such as NIH and DoD is required; preference will be given to those candidates who have been awarded funding.

Position Summary:

The Department of Radiology, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine & Public Health is seeking an Associate Professor (CHS) to play an important role in growing the clinical and research PET/MR programs. The success candidate will collaborate with clinical and basic science faculty on conducting novel research studies and developing effective clinical imaging protocols. The candidate will also lead an independent research program involving MR imaging and PET/MR imaging.
