Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of U.Va.'s buildings, infrastructure and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties.
We have an exciting opportunity for multiple Zone Maintenance Coordinators for our Maintenance and Housing zones, who are responsible for scheduling preventive and planned maintenance activities within or across maintenance zones. The incumbent will utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to schedule work and monitor work order completion and will facilitate project coordination, obtain price quotes, ensure timely availability of tools and materials, maintain on-hand supply inventory, assist with scheduled utility outage coordination, and support the adoption and use of work data tools, applications, and processes.
A high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years of experience in the building construction, maintenance, or materials industries, as well as two years of organizing or directing the work of others, and two years using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), project management software, or materials inventory program is required. A valid Driver's license, with a positive points balance is also required. Considerable knowledge of building trades (mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) and an aptitude for grasping and communicating complex matters clearly and quickly is essential. Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and interact with people of diverse backgrounds is a necessity. Ability to understand technical product data related to maintenance procedures and prioritize multiple competing priorities and adhere to strict timelines is required. Demonstrated data acquisition and management skills is essential. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, CMMS and/or scheduling software such as Microsoft Project are required. A professional Electrical, Plumbing or HVAC license and/or a Class A builder's license is preferred. Formal training in administration, database management, and work scheduling is also preferred.
