Assistant Professor - Hand Surgery
Requisition Title: Assistant Professor - Hand Surgery - 1804340
The Department of Surgery, Divisions of Orthopaedic and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the University Health Network, is inviting applications for the position of Academic Hand Surgeon. This appointment is for a full-time faculty position in the Hand Program within the Arthritis Program at the University Health Network.
The effective date of this appointment is February 28, 2019.
The successful applicant will work within the Hand Program and will participate in the clinical care of upper extremity patients. Advanced training in hand and wrist surgery as well as microsurgery are required. A strong experience in wrist surgery is preferred. Microsurgical training is required for on-call duties, as Toronto Western is a regional replantation centre.
The successful candidate should possess research skills through advanced training and have a publication track record. Preference will be given to applicants with a basic science or health services research interest, in order to add to the body of knowledge through original research. The candidate is expected to participate in medical student, resident, and hand surgery fellow education. The candidate's application should demonstrate excellence in research and teaching.
The successful candidate must be eligible for appointment at the University of Toronto at the rank of Assistant Professor and for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
Salary will be be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

A dedicated hand therapy service is on site.
