Health Care Assistant
This Health Care Assistant is for a front desk clerical Health Care Assistant in the Pediatrics clinic. Daily job duties include, but are not limited to: greeting patients; registering them which includes verifying insurance and demographics; scheduling appointments, labeling and scanning medical documents; processing some referrals when needed; answering phones, makings appointments, creating charges; completing work missing slips; working ticklers for reminder appointments, and taking nurse notes.Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical office setting or in a clinical setting performing routine health assessment tests and obtaining vital signs; experience with electronic health record systems and patient scheduling systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a certified medical assistant with current certification, which must be maintained for the duration of employment.Desired Qualifications
Experience with word processing and database software; education such as a medical course in Nurse Health Aide, Phlebotomy, Medical Billing, and/or Medical Terminology.Required Application Materials
