Department Overview
The Department of Medical Education provides educational support services to TCOM and to other health science center programs. Faculty and staff in the department schedule medical school classes, coordinate the scheduling of all other classes, support curriculum development activities in the medical school, conduct faculty development programs designed for relevant professional development of all faculty, and contribute to educational research. Medical Education assists with basic science and clinical science faculty review, and provides staff support to the Curriculum Committee and course director groups that carry out the improvement and development of our osteopathic curriculum.

Position Details
The Medical Education Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor to join our team.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Provide leadership for the Pathology components of TCOM Curriculum.
* Prepare syllabi for curricula as needed.
* Prepare curricula for pathology at TCOM.
* Lead the development and implementation of assessment for Pathology courses at TCOM.
* Participate in Academy of Medical Educators for faculty development.
* Faculty will provide content expertise in the realm of pathology assisting other faculty with curriculum development and assessment.
* Faculty will also provide peer assessment and evaluation of current Year 1 and Year 2 faculty members utilizing evaluation strategies developed by the Academy of Medical Educators.
* Participate as requested in committees to support TCOM.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

* DO or MD degree
* Board certification within ABMS/AOA Specialty
* Ability to obtain an unrestricted Texas Medical License
* 5 years' experience in academic medicine

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Experience teaching medical students
* Experience in Curriculum design and development
* Experience in medical school curriculum assessment
