Advertised Job Summary: The Career Center Event Coordinator plans, coordinates, promotes and evaluates career events for the Career Center to include all job fairs (approximately 10/year), as well as select special events. Duties include: Plans event agendas, manages all logistics for events to include contract negotiations for venue rentals, catering, transportation, parking, and security. Develops staff assignments, designs and delivers staff training. Collaborates with technology support services staff to ensure wireless access and online registration processes. Oversees registration processes. (35%) Develops and executes a comprehensive marketing and outreach plan to promote career events to students/alumni and employers through both electronic and print mediums. Collaborates with colleagues in the execution of related initiatives. (30%) Submits budget projections for each event, tracks expenditures, sets fees in consultation with leadership and based on peer benchmarking, estimates and tracks revenue generation and seeks to maximize return on investment. (15%) Assists office and employer relations staff with office-wide and employer relations initiatives as needed. (10%) Gathers student/alumni, employer and staff feedback on events and applies information to make programmatic improvements. Provides routine reporting of stats and outcomes measures. (5%) Supervises graduate and/or undergraduate student staff. (5%)
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions): Master's degree or a bachelor's degree and 2 years related program experience. Previous experience with large scale event planning.
