DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS AND RESIDENTIAL LIFE, Boston University Tanglewood Institute, College of Fine Arts
The Director of Operations and Residential Life of Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) manages all non-academic and residential operations of this preeminent summer young artist training program. S/he builds and implements strong operations and administrative systems, and is responsible for overseeing all Hiring/Employment, Risk Management, Emergency, Life Safety, and Protection of Minors compliance, policies and procedures. S/he manages the contracting and oversees the summer day-to-day operations of large outside vendors. S/he manages and coordinates faculty and staff housing, and supervises Residential/Student Life operations. The Director of Operations and Residential Life recruits, hires, trains and supervises seasonal and part-time staff team of more than twenty-five.
The Director of Operations and Residential Life reports to the Executive Director, for whom s/he provides direct support regarding budget development and tracking, and, in collaboration with the Facilities Superintendent, facilities improvement projects and rentals by internal and external users.
B.A./B.S., strong administrative and communication skills and three to five years of experience. This position relocates to the BU facility in Lenox, MA for the program duration during the summer months.
