This position will work independently and with UK tobacco breeders to continue the development and breeding of new tobacco varieties; design experiments; conduct field research and collect data; write project reports; managing budget. Work with other scientists in applying molecular biology techniques, such as molecular markers and early flowering, for accelerated tobacco breeding.

Occasional standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs. Intermittent sitting at computer for extended periods of time. Intermitten repetitive motion. Occasional work related travel. Occasional temperature extremes.
Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (40 hours/week).
The ability to breed new tobacco varieties; design experiments; conduct field research and collect data; write project reports; manage budget.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
Bachelor's degree and six years experience or more in agronomy and/or seed technology.
