Florida State University has a nationally recognized, ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science program in Computer Science, which emphasizes courses in programming, database structure, computer organization, and operating systems. At the FSU Panama City campus, the Computer Science undergraduate programs are available to both on-campus students and distance learners. The online program was recently ranked No. 1 in the nation, according to a report released by BestColleges.com (2015).

We invite applications for a 9- or 12- month, full-time, specialized, non-tenure track teaching faculty position with opportunities for promotion and multi-year contracts at our FSU Campus in Panama City, Florida. We anticipate hiring multiple faculty (up to 2 separate positions) with diverse specializations that complement the Computer Science curriculum. Each faculty position will have responsibilities in teaching and service.


Primary responsibilities are teaching a variety of core and elective courses (both online and face-to-face) in the undergraduate Computer Science program at FSU Panama City. This position also includes recruiting, mentoring, and advising students and engaging in service to the department and campus. The position begins in Fall of 2019 with the potential to start earlier (i.e., Spring or Summer 2019) if circumstances warrant it. Ph.D. in Computer Science and at least three years of college teaching experience.

Capability to teach most courses in an ABET-accredited core curriculum in Computer Science.

Ability to teach online courses effectively.


Previous experience teaching courses online and university administrative experience.

The Panama City campus of FSU is located 100 miles west of Tallahassee. FSU PC sits directly on the beautiful St. Andrews Bay and is only three miles from the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico. FSU Panama City currently houses 19 bachelor's programs and 8 master's programs and boasts a small faculty-to-student ratio, which gives students a more personalized academic experience.
