This position will provide operational support to the Offices of Financial Aid, Student Financial Services, and various departments within Enrollment Management and the institution in the overall planning, management, and execution of strategic departmental and institutional financial aid goals. Responsibilities include: the analysis and presentation of data and statistics pertaining to financial aid and other key areas of the University; creation and production of reports, and performing data analysis, utilizing Ellucian Banner and Microsoft Access; ad hoc internal data requests; completion of surveys and responding to data requests for outside organizations; development of new initiatives and innovative methods that address processing efficiencies; assuring processes are in place to guarantee data integrity. Candidates must be able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Colonial Athletic Conference and the NCAA. Additional hours, evenings and weekends, will be required in support of special projects and events.


Bachelor’s degree required. Candidate must be proficient in complete Microsoft Office suite of applications. Prior experience in creating, writing, importing and querying databases using MS Access is required. Experience using Microsoft Excel to present data in tables and charts is also required. Experience with any of the following are a plus: Student Information Systems, preferably Ellucian Banner; digital document management systems; Oracle; SQL; other report writing software.

The successful candidate must be detail oriented, have strong follow-through skills, and possess excellent analytical, technical and communication skills. The candidate must also be able to prioritize daily assignments while handling ad hoc projects and interacting with different levels of management.
