The Department of Physical Therapy at Augusta University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as a core faculty member of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program, rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. Areas of teaching most desired include neurologic and/or orthopedic physical therapy, but applicants with expertise in other areas of instruction within the curriculum will be considered. Responsibilities will include teaching in the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining a productive scholarly agenda, and providing service as required by the department, college or university. Participation in a faculty practice environment is also available. Additionally, the successful applicant will have an opportunity to participate in the department’s newly developing orthopedic and education residency programs. Tracks toward tenure or non-tenure are available and negotiable based on the candidate’s credentials and experiences.

Minimum qualifications for the position include:
- Terminal academic degree (PhD/EdD) or equivalent degree in an area related to physical therapy or education from an institution recognized by the USDE as being regionally accredited. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with diverse populations. Ability to work in a collaborative, problem solving and flexible manner.
The preferred candidate will also possess these qualifications:
- Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited program in physical therapy License as a physical therapist in the US and eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia Have earned board certification in neurologic or orthopedic physical therapy (NCS, OCS) Current member of the American Physical Therapy Association
