Job Summary/Basic Function:
Please note - This position is grant funded through August 2019.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach freshmen and sophomore level Electrical courses to high school and adult students at the Lee College Education Center in Liberty, Texas. While the Lee College Education Center of South Liberty County is the primary location of duties, this position will also work with the surrounding communities and area high schools to build enrollment and support for the Electrical Technology program.
  • Qualified applicants must be committed to student learning, integrating technology into the curriculum, and encouraging engaged scholars.
  • Teach assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate student accounting records in compliance with Lee College requirements.
  • Submit required student reports to the Admissions & Records Office according to schedule.
  • Direct, evaluate, and assess the learning experience of the students in accordance with adopted curricula and approved procedures.
  • Provide counsel/guidance to students when there is a need.
  • Work with the Division Chair of Technical Studies and the Electrical Technology faculty to develop and implement a Student Success and Strategic Growth Plan for the Electrical Technology Program in Liberty and the surrounding areas to recruit and retain students from entry to program completion.
  • All faculty members are required to be on campus 35 hours per week, and participate in professional development activities, department and college committees, commencement, and other activities as stated in the Faculty Workload and Responsibilities Policy.
  • Faculty members may be required to teach evening, summer, online, hybrid, dual enrollment, and weekend classes.
Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Qualified candidates must have an Associate’s degree and at least three (3) years of related (non-teaching) work experience, or have a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree with one (1) year of related (non-teaching) work experience.
  • Must become NCCER certified trainer.
  • Must have experience with electrical troubleshooting and repair or motor control systems. Must understand programmable logic controller, including terminology, programming, and operation. Knowledge of variable frequency drives is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current NCCER certified trainer
