Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

High School Diploma/GED (or foreign equivalent or higher). Three years of full time clerical experience that includes cash receipt and/or accounts receivable experience. Strong communication and customer service skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.


Preferred Qualifications:

College level courses (6 or more credits in college) pertaining to one of the following courses: Accounting, Business, Finance or Economics. Knowledge of Not-For-Profit practices and guidelines. Experience with high volume data entry and record keeping. Experience with daily transactions to general ledger. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge. Knowledge of PeopleSoft. Analytical experience.


Brief Description of Duties:

The Clerical Specialist will provide clerical support for cash receipts, process data entry transaction for a high volume business office. The incumbent must be accurate with figures and well organized. The incumbent must be able to handle high-volume of transactions within an assigned deadline. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Accurately post gifts, fees, pledge payments and adjustments which include following up with account holders for missing documentation.
  • Check the accuracy of fund designation and biodemographical information on cash receipt transmittal and pledge forms.
  • Accurately update and maintain constituent database.
  • Maintain accurate log on all gift and fee deposits for the reconciliation of cash receipts and maintain filing system for cash receipt transactions.
  • Respond to account holders for cash receipt inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.
