Minimum $75,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's degree in biologic sciences, chemistry, or clinical laboratory sciences required, ASCP certification preferred.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a clinical testing laboratory.

Minimum of 3 years leadership and quality assurance experience in clinical laboratory.

Three to five years' experience with Cytogenetic, Cytology and NBS laboratory methods is required.

University/Higher education related experience is a plus, with demonstrated commitment to working in a collegial collaborative team environment.

Exceptional knowledge of clinical laboratory Quality Assurance (QA) practices and College of American Pathologists (CAP) regulatory requirements

Demonstrated skill and experience managing professional staff with diverse responsibilities.

Well-developed understanding of the importance of quality assurance and experience implementing QA/QC practices in a laboratory setting.

Problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and present solutions within team management required.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, collegial team environment.

Exceptional organizational skills necessary to manage multiple complex tasks.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance activities of the clinical testing departments in the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH). The Clinical QA Manager is responsible for regulatory compliance of the clinical testing areas and serves as the Co-QA Manager for the WSLH Labwide QA Committee. This position uses advanced knowledge of tools and principles of quality management to initiate, coordinate, and implement continuous quality improvement. This position functions under the direction of the DPD Director and the WSLH Director.
