Wisconsin licensure or eligibility for Wisconsin licensure as a Clinical Psychologist. ABCN/ABPP boarded or eligible in clinical neuropsychology.

Academic credentials and experience for appointment at the selected rank. Candidates for associate or full professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW Madison guidelines for appointment and promotion on the tenure track.

Position Summary:

The department is seeking an established adult or pediatric neuropsychologist with leadership experience to become the section head for the Charles Matthews Neuropsychology Section of the Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. The position involves patient care, research and teaching. A significant portion of time will be devoted to research and teaching endeavors. Clinical activities will involve duties in the adult or pediatric neuropsychology clinics at UW Health Hospitals and Clinics. The candidate will join the vibrant team of research faculty and clinician scientists in the Section and the Department who are conducting cutting-edge research within a collaborative atmosphere. The Matthews Neuropsychology Section consists of 5 full time faculty, 5 psychometrists, and 2 postdoctoral fellows with anticipated growth going forward. Anticipated start date of the position is October 21, 2018. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have a track record of external funding for their research. Significant research opportunities and collaborative teams are available in multiple areas in adult and child neurology, as well as new opportunities for research in cancer, head injury, and other areas.

The Matthews Section was established in 1962 and over the decades has seen over 40,000 adult and pediatric patients. Faculty are involved in general outpatient assessments of patients referred from physicians within the general UWHC system including the Department of Neurology, and participate in a number of specialty multidisciplinary clinics (e.g., multiple sclerosis, stroke, dementia, head injury, cancer, epilepsy). Faculty provide neuropsychological expertise in collaborative research projects with faculty in other departments (e.g., cerebral vascular disease, preclinical Alzheimer's disease, radiotherapy treatment of cancer) and the Department of Neurology and collaborate with the world class neuroimaging. Trainees include postdoctoral fellows in neuropsychology, residents (e.g., psychiatry, neurology), medical students, undergraduate and graduate students, and others. The opportunities for collaborative research are extensive and include the world class neuroimaging facilities and faculty and staff.
