The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia seeks applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the area of superhydrophobic coatings and anti-icing properties for wind energy applications. The project will involve making superhydrophobic coatings, measurement of superhydrophobic properties, anti-icing measurements, long-term stability and scaling of the process.
A PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field is required by the start date. The successful candidate must have experimental research experience in coatings for suprhydrophobic and anti-icing applications. The project could provide opportunity for industry or other research institution collaboration.
This is a one-year appointment; however, appointment may be renewed for an additional two, one-year increments, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.
