The School of Nursing at the University of Virginia seeks a Center Manager for the Eleanor Crowder Bjoring Center for Nursing Historical Inquiry (ECBCNHI).
The Eleanor Crowder Bjoring Center for Nursing Historical Inquiry was established at the University of Virginia in 1991 to support historical scholarship in nursing. Dedicated to the preservation and study of nursing history, the Center collects historical materials, promotes nursing history scholarship, and disseminates historical research findings. The Center Manager serves as the organizational point person, and manages the day to day operations of the center. The incumbent partners with faculty, staff, and other constituents to facilitate decision-making and collaborates with stakeholders to design, plan, and implement strategic programs and practices. The Center Manager oversees procurement, budget, and the recruiting/managing of project volunteers and staff.
A Bachelor's Degree and at least 2 years of experience in project support is required. A Master's Degree is preferred. At least 8 years of project support experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Strong knowledge of organizational policy and procedures, and working knowledge of the project management discipline is essential. Applicants must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. The demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a diverse team is required. Applicants must be able to provide direct support to leaders, as needed and complete tasks without immediate supervision. Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience managing non-profit or business social media accounts. Applicants with 4 years or more of experience related to project support are highly encouraged to apply. Working knowledge of ChormeRiver, Expense UVA, or similar technologies is preferred.
