Job description

The Public Health Program at Augustana College, Rock Island, IL, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Public Health beginning August of the 2019-2020 academic year. Augustana College is a selective liberal arts college of approximately 2,500 students, most of whom live on a wooded 115-acre campus. Required Qualification for the position include:

  • A doctoral degree in a Public Health discipline or a related discipline from an accredited institution is strongly preferred, although ABD is acceptable
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Ability to teach student-centered Public Health courses, particularly Epidemiology, within the program’s core curriculum
  • Ability to develop engaging upper-level courses based on the candidate’s field of specialization
  • A strong interest in advising students and mentoring undergraduate research
  • An interest in developing and strengthening relationships with campus and community partners
