Chief Nurse Administrator/Department Chair: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program

St. Andrews University (a branch of Webber International University) is seeking a Chief Nurse Administrator/Department Chair for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.  Preference will be given to qualified candidates who possess a DNP or similar degree.  We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted State of North Carolina RN License
  • A minimum of 2 years of academic leadership experience
  • A minimum of 2 years full time teaching experience in a board-approved program
  • A minimum of 2 years of full time nursing practice experience
  • Familiarity with accreditation processes; preferred experience with CCNE Standards
  • Prior to or within the first three years of employment, have education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation, appropriate to the Chief Nurse Administrator role.  This education may be demonstrated by one of the following:
    • completion of 45 contact hours of board-approved continuing education courses;
    • completion of a certificate program in nursing education;
    • nine semester hours of graduate course work in adult learning and learning principles;
    • national certification in nursing education; or
    • documentation of successful completion of structured, individualized development activities of at least 45 contact hours approved by the board.  Criteria for approval include content in the faculty role within the curriculum implementation, curricular objectives to be met and evaluated, review of strategies for identified student population, and expectations of student and faculty performance;

      The candidate will also contribute to the University’s general education program through interdisciplinary collaboration in the general education curriculum. A passion for teaching undergraduates in a small liberal arts environment will be given preference.  Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
