The University Of Virginia Darden School Of Business, one of the world's leading business schools, seeks a Director of Enterprise Application Services (EAS) . The individual will provide technical leadership and will oversee and manage support services (installation, configuration, hosting, security, troubleshooting, technical testing, updates and integration) for various enterprise applications used by Darden. The Director will be responsible for managing application portfolio, risk, security and service management.
The Director of EAS reports to the Executive Director, works collaboratively with other IT Directors, business leaders, and stakeholders to develop information technology strategies, long term goals, and roadmaps consistent with the business objectives.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Aligns enterprise application services with the strategic goals of the organization
Develops and facilitates effective IT Application service planning, workload planning and governance
Serves as a member of senior IT leadership to help ensure alignment, standards, operational and strategic direction, and industry best practice
Implements project and task management methodologies, protocols, and standards for team to use in daily practice
Creates high-level design artifacts such as UML models, technical design documents and design abstracts showing application integration and communication points etc.
Prepares status reports and communication with appropriate leaders on decisions, plans and technology direction
Develops and maintains enterprise application security programs, processes and frameworks to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
Works with the Executive Director and other IT Directors to develop work plans defining tasks, target dates, level of efforts, resources required, skills required etc.
Empowers a team of architects, developers and analysts to solve complex technical and business problems, and to meet their professional development goals
Assigns goals and monitor performance of IT team members
Develops, implements and maintains security requirements and capabilities across all systems and infrastructure
Oversees the creation, maintenance, updating and archiving of all standards and operating procedures in accordance with best practices related to monitoring and troubleshooting all major applications, such that the data center operations are efficient and effective
Manages and leads multiple interrelated projects concurrently as well as manage daily applications' operations
Establishes and ensures team and individual accountability
Tracks, reviews and communicates status of projects related to systems. Regularly communicates progress, issues and results of projects related to systems to Executive Director, IT Directors, leaders and stakeholders
Adopts and follows change management procedures related to implementation of application changes on Enterprise Applications
Ensures team maintains and publishes IT Operations documentation necessary to operate all systems
Establishes and tracks all requests for system enhancements through Jira
Develops and manages process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities
Works cross functionally with other departments to align activities and deliverables
Partners with legal and procurement to review, negotiate and manage contracts
