The Department of Physical Therapy at Ithaca College (located in Ithaca, NY) invites nominations and applications for a tenure eligible faculty position at the rank of assistant professor starting in the 2019-2020 academic year. We are especially interested in individuals who have a strong background in teaching and scholarship in one or more of the following areas: acute care, medical screening, and cardiopulmonary physical therapy. Other areas of expertise may be considered. The department is committed to principles of diversity and, in that spirit, actively encourages applications from groups underrepresented in higher education. The selected applicant will join a dynamic, collaborative department and enhance the learning opportunities in a six-year DPT curriculum that provides a seamless undergraduate to graduate education.
Position/Job Qualifications
Qualifications include an academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc) and eligibility for licensure in New York State as a physical therapist. Candidates who are ABD may be considered with a verifiable timeline detailing the path toward degree completion/dissertation. Candidates must have a defined research agenda and evidence of teaching experience.

Ithaca's physical therapy program is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country. To meet the growing responsibilities and demands of the physical therapy profession, we offer a six-year doctorate program. This curriculum results in a bachelor's degree in clinical health studies and a professional doctorate in physical therapy. There are 19 core faculty with diverse backgrounds and expertise in a variety of clinical areas. By the end of our program, students are prepared for the clinical, managerial, and educational roles of a physical therapy practitioner.
