Occupational Summary

The Robertson Scholars Leadership Program is a four-year leadership development program aimed at cultivating the next generation of leaders. Robertson Scholars are provided with the unique opportunity to leverage the educational and co-curricular offerings at two leading institutions - Duke University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The award covers full tuition, mandatory fees, room and board, domestic and international summer enrichment experiences and up to two study abroad semesters. The admissions reader is a member of the admissions committee, and is required to sign a confidentiality agreement in accordance with Duke University policy. Each position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Recruitment and Selection. This is a seasonal position working from mid-October through February. Hours are flexible and the majority of work hours can be performed at home.

Responsibilities include:
  • Participate in a team effort to evaluate and select students for the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program.
  • Reading and evaluating the qualifications of prospective students utilizing established standards and guidelines.
  • Submitting evaluations for review by the Admissions Committee on a timely basis.
  • Attending regular admissions committee meetings
  • Participating and giving feedback on Admissions Committee decisions.
Bachelor degree required, graduate degree preferred. Prior admissions or scholarship experience is preferred.
