MED LIC PRAC NURSE
STUDENT HEALTH CENTER-ADMINISTRATIVE
Assume responsibility for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of the charge nurse in a clinic setting. Primarily administering vaccines, supplementing clinical care as needed; administering medications and special nursing care techniques prescribed for assigned patients.
Administer medications and vaccines, including travel vaccines, as prescribed and employ special nursing care techniques as required; maintain required records
Provide individualized nursing care to patients under the direction of the charge nurse to include assisting with preparation of the nursing care plan for assigned patients from verbal report and other patient records.
Administer intravenous medications and fluids as directed.
Evaluate nursing care with emphasis on nursing procedures and patient responses; assist in the delivery of nursing care and selection of nursing priorities.
Assist with control of material resources and maintenance of clinic;
Assist in appraisal of effectiveness of material and equipment and report any equipment malfunctions to charge nurse.
Participate in in-service education programs
Assist providers and other nursing personnel in the performance of various diagnostic procedures.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Work requires graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program and successful completion of an approved Pharmacology program.State of North Carolina licensure is also required.
