Full/Part Time: Full-Time
This position is responsible for the supervision of the masonry crew and completion of masonry projects and other projects as directed by the Outdoor Amenities Manager.
Responsible for supervising and organizing the work schedule of the masonry crew. Responsible for the timely execution of masonry projects including, but not limited to, sidewalks, headers, walls, bricks, pavers, blocks and special projects. Makes masonry related recommendations to the Outdoor Amenities Manager. Completes other projects related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of outdoor amenities as directed by the Outdoor Amenities Manager.
Responsible for reading and interpreting plans; laying brick and block; using compacting equipment; sub-base preparation; paver installation; and other tools, equipment, and techniques used in construction or repair of retaining walls, brick fences, stepping stones, benches etc. in connection with landscape design plans.
Maintains inventory of related tools and equipment. Ensures job sites remain clean and organized. Responsible for basic office duties related to the role of supervisor including managing timesheets and al written communications.
Other duties as assigned in support of the Grounds department.
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience related to the duties of this position.
Experience or knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment and materials used in area of work.
Experience or knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
Experience or knowledge of the practices and the ability to perform skilled carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or other related trades work.
Ability to effectively train and direct the work of others.
A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain upon hire.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
