University Counseling Center
Provides direct individual, couples and group counseling to University students. Provide walk-in emergency assessments, crisis intervention, and intakes for students; provide clinical consultations to family members and campus community constituents. Complete intake summaries, emergency assessments, progress notes, and termination summaries according to established policies and procedures.
Participates in UCC and University committees; provides outreach presentations to the University community. Assumes other responsibilities assigned by the Director, Associate and Assistant Directors. Provides clinical supervision of masters interns; may conduct presentations in training seminars.
This position requires a Master's Degree in a mental health field (e.g. social work, mental health counseling, marriage & family therapy) and two years of experience.
Licensed or pending licensure in the State of Florida (Chapter 491, F.S.) to provide direct mental health counseling.
Experience in solving problems, dealing with crises, and managing sensitive information.
Experience and/or knowledge related to psychological counseling and assessment.
Customer service experience, and the ability to interact with diverse populations.

The Florida State University Counseling Center (UCC) is seeking a strong licensed counseling generalist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. Enthusiastic and skilled in providing time-limited individual counseling, group psychotherapy, outreach consultation and crisis intervention. Experience and demonstrated ability to work with college students from diverse backgrounds is preferred.
Anticipated Salary Range
The University Counseling Center will hire selected candidate at a salary commensurate with education and experience.
This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.
Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
