RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, School of Medicine, Biochemistry
The Research Technician assists with technical aspects of experiments under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) or other more senior research staff. They prepare and maintain research and laboratory materials; observes and assists with data analysis of experiments.
- Conducts research on cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating the development and function of adipose tissue. Performs metabolic studies in mice and histological analysis of various tissues. Isolates and cultures primary cells for analysis of the genome, RNA transcription and protein complexes.
- Assists with technical aspects of experiments under the direction of the PI or other more senior research staff. Makes observations and assists with the interpretation of experiment results. Contributes to the design of research experiments. Prepares and maintains research and laboratory materials and equipment.
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience.
