Position Summary

Post-doctoral research associate in renewable energy engineering. Applications are sought for a postdoctoral research associate to develop and study novel technologies for thermal and chemical energy storage technologies. Successful candidates bring along a well-balanced combination of experimental and analytical capabilities in the thermal and fluid sciences.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Mechanical Engineering

Minimum Requirements
  • A doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent analytical skills, in particular the ability to develop analytical and numerical heat and mass transfer models of energy conversion and storage devices, especially applications involving radiative transport
  • Experience in developing numerical simulations of heat and mass transfer
  • Good background in three or more of the following programming languages: Fortran, C, C++, Matlab, Python,
  • Experience in designing, assembling, and testing experimental devices for energy conversion and storage,
  • Background in data acquisition and analysis,
  • Background in imaging techniques,
  • Good English writing and presentation skills,
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Background in X-ray tomography for materials research,
  • Background in tomography based numerical simulation,
  • Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in in-situ experimentation under tomographic monitoring,
  • Background in thermochemical energy storage,
  • Background in electrochemistry.
