Asst./Assoc. Professor, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Dept., The University of Toledo
The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Department in the College of Engineering at The University of Toledo (UT) invites applications for a tenure track assistant or associate professor beginning Spring 2019 (or a later date if mutually agreed upon). Candidates with an Electrical Engineering background are sought with broad interest in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.
This is a critical time for future communications (e.g., 5G, IoT, Nanotechnology, etc.) and over the next ten years, and there is a high demand for academia-led industrial engagement (e.g., mm-wave beamformers ideal for mm-wave cancer screening). Candidates are sought with expertise in multi-physics modeling and characterization for high-power, high-frequency electronic and nanotechnology devices; calibration of microwave and mm-wave measurements; package modeling; passive and active compact models for the design of microwave power transistors and RFICs; and development of EM simulation for optimization of complex packaged environments.
The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) Develop an externally-funded research program; (ii) Teach effectively at the undergraduate level and (iii) Build the graduate program, including developing a new research lab and industry-oriented graduate courses.
An earned Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or in a closely related domain is required at the time of joining the department. Prior experience in US-based industry, collaboration with federal labs, and the ability to secure externally sponsored grants are a plus.
Applicants must apply at http://jobs.utoledo.edu for consideration. A complete application packet must include the following as a single PDF: (1) Cover letter; (2) Curriculum vitae; (3) Two-page teaching philosophy and a list of courses you are able to teach; (4) Two-page research plan, and (5) Emails and phone numbers of at least three professional references. Review of applications and campus interviews will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. For questions about this position, please contact EECS Search Committee Chair, Dr. Devinder Kaur, Devinder.Kaur@utoledo.edu.
