Assistant Director for Talent Recruitment
Washington and Lee University seeks candidates for the newly created Assistant Director of Talent Recruitment in the Office of Human Resources. The Assistant Director for Talent Recruitment leads the Human Resources Department’s strategic recruitment and staffing initiatives through effective development of initiatives, outreach, and operational management; develops creative and effective marketing, sourcing and selection processes to drive success in recruitment and retention outcomes; promotes and drives diversity and inclusivity in all selection processes; and builds and maintains strong relationships with search committees and departments.
Essential and Related Functions:
•Creates, implements, and supports creative talent recruitment strategies to proactively build an ongoing pipeline of diverse talent.
•Actively supports search committees and departments throughout the recruitment process. Provides a high level of customer service in consulting with and guiding hiring managers in comprehensive recruitment strategies and processes.
•Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
•Manages efficient recruiting, interviewing and hiring systems and processes ensuring a positive candidate experience from the initial contact through onboarding.
•Manages all recruitment marketing activities including: posting positions, developing advertising strategies, utilizing social media such as LinkedIn and Twitter and targeted email campaigns, and collecting all collaterals and materials.
•Promotes Washington and Lee University at career fairs, conferences and other key on and off campus events to identify and recruit top talent.
•Manages applicant-tracking database. Collects and analyzes data on demographics and hiring activity for use in recruitment plans.
•Coordinates the generation of offer letters and all pre-employment requirements such as background checks, I-9 and E-verify forms, and pre-employment testing.
•Ensures compliance in recruiting, through effective collaboration and review of processes.
•Supports human resources team in planning and executing university-wide recognition and workforce development programs and events.
•Performs additional other duties as assigned.
*Minimum of 4 years of directly related HR work experience or a combination of education and experience from which a similar skill set would be obtained
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*Proficiency in web-based recruiting tools, including social media and job boards, and applicant tracking systems.
*Four or more years of experience in HR, academic administration, nonprofit management, or related field with an expertise in Talent Acquisition and demonstrated capability in recruiting.
*Proven record of developing and effectively managing recruitment programs, projects, and initiatives *Ability to prioritize work, and manage multiple tasks and projects.
*Ability to influence others, gather information from individuals and groups, build collaborative relationships and develop rapport within HR and across the university.
*Proficiency with MS Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
