Professional Research Assistant

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, is seeking applicants for a full-time Professional Research Assistant (PRA) position in the laboratory of Dr. James Roede. Research in the Roede Laboratory involves the study of environmental toxicants, such as pesticides and metals, and how these agents can induce and potentiate neurodegenerative disease. Specifically, the laboratory investigates how toxicants can impact the Down syndrome population, leading to variability in cognitive phenotype. Specific duties include assistance with day-to-day operations of the laboratory focusing on laboratory management, as well and performing integral in vitro and in vivo experiments. The PRA salary range starts at $35,000 and this position is eligible for a full University benefits package.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or a closely related field and experience working with cell culture models, RNAi gene knockdown, and plasmid transfections. Laboratory management, in vivo and experience with neurodegenerative models are preferred.
