Laboratory Assistant I

Under close supervision incumbents perform simple duties of a routine nature in a teaching or research laboratory. Responsibilities include assisting laboratory researchers in their research projects using molecular and cellular assays to investigate lymphocyte migration and calcium signaling. Other duties include general lab maintenance tasks such as preparing solutions, maintaining cell cultures, performing cell preparations, making patch pipettes for electrophysiological experiments, ordering reagents, cleaning glassware and maintaining printers. Additionally, the job requires maintaining the mouse colony including breeding mice, monitoring and scoring mice with Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis and genotyping when necessary.

Salary: Hourly $15.86 - $16.76
Total Hours: Part-Time
Limited Appt Position, 43%
Irregular work schedule.
