Associate or Full Professor in Public Health

Job description



The College of Public Health at the University of Kentucky is seeking an Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. In addition to fulfilling the responsibilities of a full-time faculty member, the Associate Dean will be a key member of the Dean's senior administrative team who will have oversight for academic-related activities and will work with management and staff to provide services to students, faculty, and program directors. The Associate Dean will guide curriculum development and management, educational quality assessment and improvement, academic support for the faculty, and facilitates a humanistic and inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body. The faculty workload for this position will be adjusted to accommodate the approximately 40% of time required for the administrative position.

Required Education

PhD, DrPH, or other doctoral degree in public health or related discipline.



Required Related Experience

A demonstrated ability for excellence in teaching; a consistent track record of dissemination of research in topics relevant to one of the five disciplines of public health; a demonstrated ability to acquire extramural research funding as principal investigator and as co-investigator with appropriate colleagues; the ability to collaborate with other faculty to develop and support education and training for the public health workforce; and participation in public health-related service opportunities at the institutional, local, state, and national levels; a demonstrated leadership and management ability in academic/student affairs.

Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administrators to accomplish goals. Teaching ability, curriculum development and design, conducting research, engaging in public health service, supervising employees.
