Position Summary

The Syringe Exchange Coordinator will provide all direct service provisions of the Guilford County Solution to the Opioid Problem (GCSTOP) syringe exchange program. This role ensures the delivery of both mobile and fixed site harm reduction services and full case management to program participants. The Coordinator will work with the schedules of volunteers to provide safe, effective, and person-centered harm reduction services. The Coordinator will also participate in outreach and program participant follow up.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work or related area with 2 -3 years experience in the substance use and recovery field. Must demonstrate strong clinical skills in line with Person-Centered Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Must have a valid NC Driver's License. Requires ability to lift boxes up to 40 lbs, drive for 4 hours at a time and sit/stand for up to 4 hours at a time.

Preferred Qualifications

Individual should have an unconditional positive regard for participants and ability to allow their own self-direction. Coordinator must have an aptitude for learning in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
Individual should be compassionate and empathetic. Coordinator must also be culturally competent/humble with the IV drug using population.
