Position Summary

This position will be based out of the Michigan State University- Hurley Children’s Hospital Pediatric Public Health Initiative, part of the Division of Public Health of Michigan State University (MSU), based in Flint, Michigan. A tremendous lesson we have learned in Flint is that we need to have a competent and capable workforce to identify and tackle pediatric public health issues. The fellow (i.e., Research Associate) would complete a MPH (Master of Public Health) degree at MSU, which is a Flint-based online program; conduct research as part of the MSU-Hurley Pediatric Public Health Initiative; and work in the public health-focused Hurley Children’s Clinic at the Flint Farmers’ Market , teaching residents and medical students and providing direct clinical care.

Position Requirements

  • Completion of US ACGME-accredited Pediatrics residency program
  • American Board of Pediatrics certified and/or board eligible pediatrician
  • Strong communication and teaching skills
  • Motivated learner
