Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applicants for an Admissions Officer in the Office of Admissions.  This position is responsible for counseling and advising prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors, faculty, staff and other members of the college community regarding the institution, admissions, and matriculation policies and procedures, and the college selection process.  Will work to enhance recruitment of students through all avenues focusing in secondary schools, visitations with prospects and school officials.   Must be able to promote awareness of The Citadel, the college’s admissions and matriculation processes and financial aid opportunities.  Responsible for managing the assigned prospect/applicant pool throughout the applicant process, to include conversion from prospect-to-applicant-to accept status-to-matriculation.  Assists the Associate Director of Admissions in planning, coordination, and execution of the Citadel Volunteer Recruiter program. Assists in planning, coordination, operation, and evaluates assigned recruiting programs and activities.


Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required. The ability to work collegially within the Admissions staff is critical. Position requires strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. The ability to travel and willingness/ability to work flexible hours will be required for completion of duties. Admissions Officers are often the first contact prospective students and their parents have with the College; the first impression is critical. Therefore, this person must possess a high degree of professionalism & integrity.


Preferred Qualifications:

An understanding of marketing, admissions, and enrollment management principles, or experience working with high school/college students is desired, but not required. An understanding of The Citadel and the Corps of Cadets is a plus. Strong computer skills are required. A working knowledge of BANNER and Recruit is desired but not required.
