POSITION: Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor in Teacher Education Faculty Position
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in literacy or reading specialist, P-12 teaching experience required (early education an asset). Teacher licensure, higher education experience, scholarly research, experience with restorative justice in education, and knowledge of CAEP preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide high quality literacy and reading/writing instruction in a highly reputable, NCATE/CAEP-accredited teacher education program grounded in the liberal arts. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in literacy, children’s/adolescent literature, and teacher education; advising; practicum and student teaching supervision; department responsibilities; and collaboration with other disciplines across campus. The successful candidate will have a commitment to the department’s mission of preparing teachers who teach boldly in a changing world through an ethic of care and critical reflection.
COMPENSATION: Salary determined by education and experience.
APPOINTMENT DATE: Tenure-track position begins August 2019. EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.
