Job description

The eMINTS National Center at the University of Missouri is looking for the next Director. This individual must be a visionary leader who will provide dynamic, collaborative leadership for the Center’s mission, strategy, core programs, and staff culture while maintaining sound management of the organization’s annual budget and ensuring adequate funding to sustain and grow the Center.

The Director will lead a mission-driven team of creative educators who are making a difference for students, teachers and schools across the nation. eMINTS is a research and outreach center within the University of Missouri College of Education dedicated to helping schools and educators better prepare students for college and career in a technology-rich, digitally-connected world. eMINTS professional development programs have been recognized for excellence, earning a place in the US Department of Education’s highly selective What Works Clearinghouse.

Support the success of eMINTS professional development programs for educators at all levels (pK-20) by staying informed about current state and national standards and policies, trends in the field of education and technology, and emerging research in the education sciences.

Oversee all operational aspects of the Center’s budgets, grants, and programs. Participate in the development and implementation of organization-wide and departmental budgets. Provide the Dean of the College of Education with current financial information according to the normal fiscal year calendar.

Represent the eMINTS National Center and the University of Missouri on local and national stages by engaging effectively with education leaders, state educational agencies, and like-minded private and public sector organizations to grow the eMINTS network and partnerships.

Seek expansion of current revenue models and new funding opportunities through fundraising, grant-writing, and entrepreneurial activity; identifying new opportunities to grow and innovate in the service of our mission.

Hire and effectively manage staff; preserve and cultivate a collaborative culture where candor, integrity, transparency, and diversity are valued.

Maintain a strategic plan that is fully compatible and mutually supportive of the eMINTS National Center’s processes and programs; effectively integrating long-term strategies with short-term priorities and balancing costs, budgets and efficiencies to benchmark standards.

Salary: Commensurate with experience Grade: GGS-013
University Title: Director II Business Administration

Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of five years’ working in the K-12 environment or with organizations that serve educational institutions.

A doctorate or master’s degree in education or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.

Experience in managing organizational budgets or federal grant budgets

Proven capacity to secure funds through grant-writing, fund-raising, or entrepreneurial activities.

Experienced presenter and networker who can represent the eMINTS National Center on state, national, and international stages

Experience working in a distributed organization where staff work from home offices. Knowledgeable about education, technology, and state and federal policies

A minimum of five years’ experience as a member of a senior executive leadership team Experience teaching or conducting research in an academic environment or organization

Experience effectively managing an organization in the rapidly changing field of educational technology Experience developing a strategic plan which is integrated with the strategic business plan of the organization Application Materials Online application and references
