Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs-WEOC
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC)
The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking an experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professional to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Dean will develop and implement new training programs and all curricula matters. They will lead the recruitment, retention, evaluation and support of faculty and assure proper assessment of student learning to enhance and improve instruction and student learning outcomes. Additionally, they will assure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines including performance guidelines promulgated by the State University of New York and the faculty and staff contracts. The qualified candidate will also build consensus through community outreach to enhance program development and liaise with local school districts to address educational needs of community. The Assistant Dean will work with the Business Affairs Office to develop the annual operating and grant budgets and coordinate with the Student Affairs Department to provide services that promote student success. They must also be available to provide oversight of day and evening programs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master’s Degree and five years of related experience in an academic institution of which three years must have been in an administrative or supervisory position. The qualified candidate must have thorough knowledge of the labor market and demonstrated ability in program development and implementation. Significant knowledge of and experience in administering developmental education and incorporating technology into the curriculum is required. Successful applicants will also have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments and the ability to set academic policies and conduct academic planning. Successful candidates will possess strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to work independently. Candidates with proven experience working in a culturally diverse environment are encouraged to apply. Computer proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Doctoral degree and experience working with faculty in a unionized environment is preferred. Knowledge of Banner is also preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $93,428, plus excellent benefits.
